To the Kennell Family,
I was deeply saddened to learn of Cindy's passing. I was fortunate to have worked with Cindy on a number of different cases and enjoyed her humor and professionalism. She was a good friend and dedicated professional and will be sorely missed. My condolences and prayers to the entire family.

My prayers goes out to Cindy's family. She was my teacher at GRCC in 2003. She was an inspiration for women in CJ for all they could achieve in this field. Cindy knew of my past and had been thrilled how I finally got it. I will be forever grateful to have been taught by such an outstanding woman! God bless you all!

I remember Cindy very well. I remember long chats cruiser to cruiser at 44th and Division in the early 1980's. Cindy relayed a lot of what she had gone through as first female at Wyoming PD and I was struggling with being first female at Kentwood PD. Cindy was a true inspiration and she gave support and insight freely. She was smart and talented and a very good cop! She blazed trails that she never knew about and influenced so many people - always with a smile and tact. To her family: my deepest condolences and prayers that you will find some sort of peace in the knowledge that she was loved and will be missed by many.

Bob, A voice out of your past. I got the sad news about Cindy from Mick Rahn.Marjee and I visited Mick last year in Grand Rapids and enjoyed talking about Round Lake and the "Good Olde Days". We actually went down to the lake and visited old friends--saw Bookie and Bessie Bookwalter and old haunts. We talked about you and the time about 8-10 yrs ago already--when I was in GR and you, Mick and I went to lunch. Marjee and I are very saddened about the news on Cindy. We know how happy your life was from the lunch we had together. We missed hearing from you in recent years but are glad that you are surrounded by wonderful family and caring friends during ths difficult time. You are in our hearts and prayers and we wish for you compassion, strength, wisdom, and courage. We know Cindy is in a better place and the wonderful memories and close family will serve you well.Take care my good friend of over 50+ years--you are the best. Warm Regards and Love, Bill and Marjee Righeimer, Prior Lake, MN

Dear Sara: I don't know if you remember who we are. You went to grade school with our daughter Rachel Bulthuis. We always thought so much of you and talked about what a sweet girl you were. When I read the paper this morning and came upon your Mother's obituary it was very shocking. I am so sorry to hear that she had been ill and our hearts and prayers go out to you and your family as you go on without her here on this earth.

I owe a lot of my success in the world of security to both Cindy and her husband Bob for taking me in and helping me in every way possible. They both showed a great amount of trust and admaration for my work with them at Century Security and for that I am forever grateful.
I hope Bob and those closest to Cindy can find comfort, somehow, in her passing.

Bob, So terribly sorry to hear of Cindy's death and your disheartening loss. The rapidity of her demise from ALS was somewhat shocking, but my initial and forever lasting memory of Cindy, as I have expressed to you before, was the excitement in her voice when I first made contact with her in my hunt for you for our 50th Prep Reunion. And it was truly a delight to meet the "voice on the other end of the phone" at our reunion. Immediately, one could tell what a special little gal you had as a wife. Again, Bob, we are so sorry for your loss...you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers!

Sara,
My condolences to you and your family. I was just cleaning out some things on Thursday evening when I came across a beautiful letter that your mom had written me. It brought to mind all the times she provided me with support and encouragement on my journey. Although I was surprised and saddened today to read the email on her passing, she will not be forgotten. Your mom was "The Pioneer"; her badge shines as bright as the stars, and I am sure that she will continue to be a light along many paths. I honour and appreciate the service and legacy of Chief Cindy Kennell. May you and your family find comfort and peace at this time.
Blessings,

I will always value your counsel and your words of wisdom. The law enforcement community has lost one of it's most important contributors. God smiles on police officers, and I know he's smiling on you.
