LAKE - Sally Lake (nee Liefbroer) age 44, of Caledonia passed away February 1 after a courageous 5 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Sally was an amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister, and business woman. She believed that faith in God provided the driving force in her life. Sally touched many people with her dynamic personality and those who met her will never forget her. She was an avid golfer and all around athlete. She was a former Vice President of Spartan Stores and their first female officer. At the time of her death she was a Strategist for the Fairly Painless Advertising agency in Holland.
She leaves behind her husband Andrew and son Shannon. She is also survived by her mother, Barbara Liefbroer, and sisters Linda (Jerry) Hicks, Brenda Key, and Candy (Tom) VanDusen. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Liefbroer. She is also survived by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Tobi and Jeanette Lake, brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, Christine Lake, Cheryl (Mike) Weeks, Matt (Tammy Munger) Lake, Tobi (Billie Jo Lowry) Lake, Angela (Phillip) Kowalczyk, and Gregory Lake. Numerous nieces and nephews Karla (Cory) Bigger, Michael Key, Brennan Lowry, Rozalyn, Madelyn, and Ethan Kowalczyk.
The family would like to thank Dr. O'Rourke and his nurse Pat for their loving care and support for the last five years.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 9669 Kraft Ave, SE, Caledonia. The family will receive visitors at the Cook Funeral Home, Byron Center, 2067 84th St, Wednesday 4-8 p.m., Thursday 12 p.m.- 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookfuneralservices.com.
